Live Music By Dirtwire: Dirtwire sits on the back porch of Americana’s future, conjuring up a gris-gris of sound with an amalgamation of traditional instrumentation, world-beat percussion, and electronic soundscapes.
Comprised of multi-instrumentalist David Satori (Beats Antique) and Evan Fraser (Hamsa Lila; Stellamara), each performance brings the audience to a mysterious crossroads at an imaginative and seductive moment in time. The result is a rebirth of Americana and beacon for a post-millennial return to downhome goodness.
Performance By: Damkianna Dance Company, followed by Aerialist Elana with AirAligned Dance Group – www.airaligned.com
Catering By: Emily’s Catering and Cakes
About YRCS and The Moondance
YRCS was the United State’s first Waldorf inspired public charter school. Our pioneering spirit and standards of excellence allow us to enjoy high visibility throughout our community – and even the world! Our art and music infused curriculum focuses on nurturing the child in body, mind and spirit, while educating the head, heart and hands. Whole foods nutrition, community service and field-based experiences are woven throughout our programs. Festivals honoring seasonal passages are cornerstones of our student’s educational experience. Our school’s families have chosen YRCS as it honors our visceral and aesthetic connection to the natural world.
By attending Moondance, you have the opportunity to join us in celebrating and supporting Waldorf education. The Moondance Gala evolved from humble origins as a simple, annual fundraising auction to support Yuba River Charter School. The school’s leadership and development teams felt that the YRCS community would benefit from a fun, grown-ups-only night out that could also engage members of the community at-large, while retaining the fundraising value of the auction–that is, a Friendraiser in addition to a Fundraiser! Thus, Moondance was born.
We are thrilled to present, in it’s 5th year, Moondance –Midnight at the Oasis. This year, we hope to raise $40,000 through ticket sales and the auctions.
